|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every week that begins at 12:00pm on Wednesday, repeating until October 17, 2018
This class is for anyone who would like to be more in touch with or learn more about: their body; themselves; their relationships; or the connection between their body-mind and expression.
Class will include: anatomy of the body system, guided somatization, partner work, hands-on and somatic movement explorations.
Time will be allowed to apply the explored material for ease and efficient movement to asana for asana practitioners, to dance for dancers and to everyday activities.
Currently we are studying the Organ System. Read this short article and watch this video about the role of organs in movement by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen founder of Body-Mind Centering®
Perspective on organs from Body-Mind Centering®: Our organs are vital and alive. They provide us with our sense of self, full-bodiedness, and organic authenticity. Organs are the contents within the skeletal-flesh container and carry on the functions of our internal survival — breathing, nourishment and elimination. Organs are the primary habitats or natural environments of our emotions, aspirations, and the memories of our inner reactions to our personal histories. They support our postural tone and our feelings, and give volume to our movement.
Please note that this class is by invitation only. Please if you are interested in attending.
